We awoke to the sun rising over the island, giving birth to a peek of a rainbow to the south of us and the slight smell of smoke; the people of Ambrym were already preparing for our arrival.
Visiting this magical island is an all-sensory experience: the smell of the earth, the sounds of the chanting, the beating of the drums, the feeling of the ground shaking from feet stomping, the taste of the sweet and juicy fruit. We are lucky to be here and it is incredibly special to witness this sacred and magical Rom Dance.
