Up at the crack of dawn for a skiff cruise on a small creek looking for birds, mammals, reptiles, and of course amphibians. We continued our morning by hiking in the terra firma land known as the Casual Forest. We encountered a beautiful rainbow boa constrictor hanging out in a tree! Magnificent!
Our afternoon was highlighted by kayaking and skiff tours of the Yarapa River. Wooly monkeys, and a brown-throated three-toed sloth were the mammal species that we encountered. But the highlight of the afternoon was in the form of birds, with several masked crimson tanagers, a thick-billed euphonia, and black-capped donacobius all posing for our cameras!
