Today we reached the heart of the Pacaya – Samiria Reserve. Delfin II tied up to the shore, not too far from the entrance to the Pacaya River. We took full advantage of the day, by traveling way into the Pacaya, and having lunch at the most distant point, to then head back to the ship.

Our exploration was about eight hours long, while we searched for wildlife through the most remote, and intact part of the reserve. We saw many species of animals, which we had not seen before, like the arapaima gigas, locally known as paiche. We saw lots of blue and gold macaws, squirrel monkeys, black cayman, and hoatzins, just to mention a few.
