Today we started our day anchored in Jackson Bay, our access point to Karukinka Natural Park. The winds were blowing hard, but we were able to bring everyone ashore and were greeted by the ever-entertaining southern elephant seal. We were also surprised by a small number of king penguins who were scattered along the beach. The majority of guests chose to take a walk through a forest of beech trees to a beautiful waterfall.

In the afternoon, we relocated west, entering another fjord where National Geographic Explorer found calmer waters from which to launch our operations. We landed and went for a walk through another forest and along the beach where we had great views of three different kinds of geese: kelp, ashy headed, and upland. It was a classic day in Patagonia where we experienced all forms of weather.
