This morning we woke deep inside Tracy Arm, a twenty-two mile long glacial fjord which winds back into the mountains of the Coast Range. Bright sunshine illuminated the towering granite walls, highlighting the scars left by the passage of the massive river of ice which carved this spectacular valley. After breakfast we lowered the Zodiacs and spent the rest of the morning cruising among the bergs; it was like wandering in a sculpture garden with harbor seals and mountain goats for companions.
