IT'S NOT AS ROUGH AS IT LOOKS! From the comfort of our jet boats, everyone remains warm and dry. We headed back down Hells Canyon after a eventful trip on the Snake River. Bighorn sheep were seen close up at river level and also standing high on the sides of the steep cliffs. Pictographs were seen at Buffalo Eddy. Buffalo Eddy can also be considered one of the best rock skipping spots in the Intermountain West. We visited the famous Joseph Crossing at Dug Bar, the site where Chief Joseph lead 23 bands of Nez Perce Indians in a crossing of the snowmelt-swollen river in May of 1877.
