It was early in the morning aboard National Geographic Sea Lion as we cruised through Frederick Sound. Our goal was to spot humpback whales, and we were not disappointed. We ended up in what many naturalists at Lindblad Expeditions call, “whale soup”! Whales were breaching in the distance, and we could see tons of pectoral slapping and fluking.
In the afternoon, guests experienced their first taste of Southeast Alaska’s temperate rainforest.
