Today we had the incredible opportunity to explore two different islands. During the morning, we visited the iconic Bartolome which offers one of the most recognized and famous views in the Galapagos Archipelago.

We took advantage of the first light of day to hike to the summit of Bartolome, which is also a perfect example of the geology of the islands as they looked in the very beginning of their formation.

Later in the morning we landed at the golden beach of Bartolome where we could practice snorkeling in the Pacific for the first time during our expedition. The water was crystal clear and the fish were abundant, but the highlight was definitely the Galapagos penguins that showed up to swim with us. A couple of sea lions also joined in the fun and they were so playful!

The afternoon was spectacular as well, as we could observe our first flamingos and during our hike through the dry forest of Dragon Hill we observed the yellow land iguana, another iconic species of the islands. It was a day we will never forget.
