As soon as the sun rose we started our day by climbing to the top of Bartholomew Island. We started our climb to the top of this inactive volcano and had great light for photography. This island is famous for its spectacular landscapes and geology and photos of this place can be found in many publications.

Our expert photographers were delighted by the unique scenario available and the single Galapagos racer snake at the beginning of our hike.

Volcanic features can be seen relatively well in Galapagos, the weather is quite similar throughout the year and consequently preserves current geological features for thousands of years. We had a walk to the summit and had a great time photographing lava flows, craters, the pinnacle rock, and also observing from up there flying fish as well as frigatebirds, and boobies flying around.

After we arrived from our walk on board for breakfast, we went out again, this time we go to a small golden colored beach; there we snorkeled with penguins, rays, and different species of fish. We also had our glass bottom boat for a ride along the coast of this nice calm bay, we saw just as much as snorkelers did.

We repositioned our ship to Chinese Hat islet and went snorkeling there with sea lions, sharks, stingrays, and penguins. After this activity we returned aboard and got ready for a second outing this time for a Zodiac ride along the coast of Chinese Hat islet and observed Galapagos hawks, sea lions, penguins and the amazing landscape so characteristic of this area.
