Naturalist and certified photo instructor Jeff Litton has visited the Maya pyramids at Tikal more than a dozen times, but each time he arrives he finds something new that inspires his work. “When I’m taking photographs here, I’m trying to capture the scale, but I’m also looking for some of those smaller details like the way the rocks have weathered over time or the string of ants crawling across the stones. These details help fill in the story of these incredible old temples.” In this episode of Expedition Spotlight, Litton explores the wonders of this ancient destination and shares why it is perfect for expedition photography.
