“I think once you’re a seafarer, you’re always a seafarer,” says Captain Aaron Wood, who began working on polar ships at the age of 16 and then never stopped. For the last decade, he’s been at the helm of several ships in the Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic fleet, and most recently was named Captain of the National Geographic Endurance, which he has sailed to the icy wilds of Antarctica, Patagonia, Iceland, and beyond. In this episode of In Good Company, Captain Wood shares the many joys of exploration and what it takes to navigate this state-of-the-art, polar-grade vessel.
