“Baja California has magic in spades,” says Ralph Lee Hopkins, a National Geographic Photography Expert and the founding director of Lindblad’s Expedition Photography program. Over the last 34 years Hopkins has traveled around the globe, but nothing inspires him like this vibrant region where the desert meets the sea. Here, he has taught guests how to best capture stunning gray whales in the Gulf of California, or thoughtfully compose photos of the towering cardón cacti in the vast, untouched desert.
