Cruising up the Stikine River in jetboats provided an exciting vantage point to view waterfalls, eagles, and bears near Wrangell, Alaska. These jetboats are propelled by water movement and only draw about a foot and a half of water below them. The nimble boats allowed us to explore shallow reaches upriver and enter Shakes Lake, which was filled with brilliant glacial icebergs. Conditions today were excellent to view Shakes Glacier at the head of the lake.
