Our first full day on board National Geographic Resolution in Patagonia began in Bahia Canepa. The guests aboard were incredibly excited for the opportunity to navigate around Staten Island. The views of the high peaks and sunshine peeking out through the clouds and over the mountaintops provided the most incredible scene for photographers and nature lovers alike.

Wildlife from the shores, skies, and waters were the highlights for many. Geese, shags, and even penguins were observed and photographed during the morning Zodiac cruises. Albatross dove down, feeding on a huge bait ball of fish off the point of the bay. Many also saw sea lions and fur seals playing in the waters around the rocky island.

It was an exciting morning followed by interesting and inspiring presentations by a special guest, Tati Besada from Unplastify, and Jayden O’Neil our certified photo instructor. The evening ended with the captain’s cocktail hour, an official welcome to the ship, and a wonderful dinner.
