A blue-sky day greeted the National Geographic Explorer as it pulled into the port of Stanley, the capital of the Falkland Islands. Our guests set loose on land, partaking in the variety of activities that awaited them. A great majority set off to Gypsy Cove, known for its stunning view of the inlet leading to the capital, with a large group of Magellanic penguins awaiting. Tours of the city were had, showing off the highlights and comically pointing out the sparse means by which the locals get by. Our dive team took to a Zodiac to venture off a few miles from the ship, encountering all manner of invertebrates on the bottom.
