Today National Geographic Explorer visited the small fishing town of Siglufjörður, where we visited the famous Herring Museum. Siglufjörður was a center of herring processing during the herring boom in the 1940s and 1950s. We were treated to a reenactment of the day-to-day life of a “herring girl” during that time.
