Today on National Geographic Endeavour II, we arrived at Cerro Dragon in the northwestern realm of Santa Cruz Island. The outing allowed us to visit the home of one of the most emblematic creatures of the archipelago, the golden-yellowish reptiles known as Galapagos land iguanas (Conolophus subcristatus). Back on board, we prepared for an amazing snorkel to enjoy the deep blue with playful sea lions and Pacific green sea turtles.
In the afternoon, we arrived at “Bahia Borrero,” where we explored the bay by kayaking and paddleboarding. We looked for baby sharks and rays in the mangrove forest. Just before sunset, we circumnavigated Daphne Mayor Islet, a very important study site for the famous Darwin’s finches. It was another special experience in paradise!
