Inside the giant tortoise rearing center you can find them all: giant tortoises full size, dinner-plate size, and teacup size. They come from many of the islands in the archipelago — as still quite a few have dangerous conditions for young hatchlings — though fewer and fewer as the years pass and the Galapagos National Park restores and improves the living conditions for many native and endemic species out in the wild.
Tortoises were our aim, and tortoises we saw! A grand finale for an exceptional week on board National Geographic Delfina!
