Today we awoke at the southernmost point of the Galapagos. Punta Pitt is located on San Cristobal, the administrative capital of the islands. Although San Cristobal Island is home to around 8,000 people, our landing at Punta Pitt beach felt like we were the first ones to ever visit this little paradise on earth. This is the result of conservation efforts that keep 97 percent of the total land mass of the Galapagos as protected areas.

Our visit at Punta Pitt was a special one. We encountered red-footed boobies nesting and flying. We also encountered blue-footed nesting on the ground right next to our trail as well as the famous San Cristobal mockingbird. This species caught the attention of Charles Darwin when he visited the Galapagos Islands in 1835.

The last full day of our expedition ended with a calm and magical walk along the beach of Cerro Brujo, a white sand beach with turquoise water, where a healthy colony of sea lions live. Tomorrow our guests will be leaving the Galapagos, but the Galapagos will never leave them!
