Today we woke up anchored in Punta Pitt. This was Darwin’s first sight of the islands and our landing spot for the day. The area is a water-worn ravine that took us uphill where we found a colony of red-footed boobies nesting. The view from the top was breathtaking. The sun was strong, and winds blew hard. Blue-footed boobies courted and nested along the trail. Down at the beach, our last snorkel of the week offered close encounters with sea lions.
