After spending a quiet night alongside the quay in the heart of Riga, we got an early start for the day’s explorations of the city and the surrounding region. The entire city center of Riga, including the medieval old town and the surrounding 19th century boulevards, is a UNESCO World Heritage site, with an emphasis on the city’s beautifully preserved architecture. We had a close look at these lovely buildings on walking tours with local guides. We made a visit to the central market and had a chance to see more of the city from a vintage tram.
