We had a wonderful morning in Petersburg, Alaska, a small Norwegian fishing town with a local motto of “The town that fish built.”  This town’s close proximity to the LeConte Glacier and its icebergs, which could be used to pack and export fish, inspired a Norwegian entrepreneur to settle the town in 1890. With opportunities to spend some time on the active fishing dock, exploring the muskeg bog, wandering the small town and flightseeing over the glacier, guests had a great chance to see all that Petersburg had to offer.  Setting sail in the afternoon, we headed south towards Misty Fjord for our last day in Southeast Alaska before reaching British Columbia.
