It was a sunny day in Southeast Alaska, and we made the best of it as we cruised up Peril Strait to look for wildlife. We spent the afternoon at Sitkoh Bay and enjoyed hikes on a maintained dirt road or paddled kayaks or standup paddleboards from the shore. One hiking group was in the right location to witness a juvenile male coastal brown bear swim across a river mouth to chew on a nearby mat of lush sedges. It was an exciting highlight of the expedition.
