Today we explored the Pacaya River. When the area floods, it provides access to a great lagoon. We had the opportunity to travel through the vegetation to see the nests of horned screamers. We also saw red-and-blue macaws and pink river dolphins swimming around our skiffs.
In the afternoon, we went farther into the Pacaya River in search of monkeys. We succeeded in finding red howler monkeys in a large family group and squirrel monkeys swinging and jumping from tree to tree. After an amazing ride, we went swimming in the blackwater lagoon.
