Today we explored a couple of small islands with unique ecosystems. Geologically speaking, North Seymour is an uplifted area. It has two types of sea lions, land and marine iguanas, various land birds, and many seabirds, including blue-footed boobies, seagulls, and frigates that mate all year long. We had a great morning exploring this flat and rocky spot full of wildlife.

In the afternoon, we visited Rabida, a red beach alongside the vast blue ocean. The sand and gravel have a high percentage of iron oxide, which causes the red color. Rabida has a very small lagoon with flamingos and playful sea lions along the shoreline. We enjoyed an incredible experience snorkeling with Galapagos sharks, manta rays, sea lions, and a wide variety of multicolored fish.
