Today we had our first full day expedition. We started by visiting North Seymour, a small island on the central part of the archipelago, located on the northern side from Santa Cruz. The mile and a half hike took our groups through the middle of the island and the nesting colonies of frigatebirds and blue-footed boobies. We also found Galapagos land iguanas, yellow and brown colored, walking and active around the shoreline. Some of these animals were hanging from branches that are already growing the first leaves from the wet season.

In the afternoon, we visited Rabida Island, a unique place where minerals, volcanic activity, and erosion processes make the island red. We snorkeled in the bay and walked along the beach at sunset. We were accompanied by sea lions, pelicans, and brown noddy terns on our walk.
