This morning we woke to rain, an amazing view of Eddystone Rock and some playful Dall’s porpoises.
We soon reached Misty Fjords and all our guests came up on deck to see the view for themselves. The rain had stopped and the temperature inversions created mystical layers of mist that weaved their way through the trees and towering cliffs that rose 2,000 feet above the water.
After spending time getting lots of photographs our guests climbed into expedition landing crafts to tour the fjord and get a closer view of the waterfalls that drop from the mountain tops to the water. We saw many species of birds, plus harbor seals and an unusual sighting of a river otter feeding on crabs along the shore.
