It was the first day of excursions on another exciting voyage aboard Lord of the Glens. We spent the morning in Kyle of Lochalsh, where some of us hiked a beautiful trail through a Scottish bog and others opted to visit magnificent Eilean Donan Castle, also called “the most photographed castle in Scotland.”
During lunch, we repositioned to the Isle of Skye to visit Armadale Castle and Botanical Gardens. The castle ruin was the home of Clan McDonald, and a museum on the grounds gave us insight into their history.
In the evening, we continued onward to Inverie, the most remote town in mainland Britain, only accessible by boat or a sixteen-mile hike. After dinner, some of us went ashore to have a pint in the iconic Old Forge pub. Tomorrow, we continue our adventure!
