Today, we began our journey through the Highlands of Scotland. Lord of the Glens is here in Kyle of Lochalsh, the western coast of Scotland and the gateway to the Isle of Skye. The morning was greeted with a beautiful rainbow over the bridge that connects the Isle of Skye to the mainland of Scotland.
We set off after breakfast to Eilean Donan Castle, the most photographed castle in all of Scotland. We had an opportunity to take some of our guests up to a fantastic viewpoint overlooking Loch Duich.
In the afternoon, we set sail for the small community of Inverie on the Knoydart peninsula. We enjoyed a lovely walk through the small town and along the coast observing the ancient forest that surrounds the community with many plants and bird species.
It was a great first day of this adventure that will take us through the Highlands of Scotland.
