We awoke this morning to Lord of the Glens still on the Isle of Mull. A full day is ahead of us. After breakfast, we took to the road on a coach. Our first stop was to Duart Castle. Originally built in the 13th century, this castle still stands tall overlooking the Sound of Mull.
We continued our journey to the southwest end of Mull. Here, we caught a short ferry ride to the Isle of Iona. This tiny island serves as the birthplace of Christianity in Scotland. Saint Columba arrived here from Ireland in 563 AD. The sun was shining, making this visit to this special place even more so.
On the way back to Lord of the Glens, we stopped to spend some time with some hairy cows, otherwise known as Highland cows. It was the most perfect day here in the Highlands of beautiful Scotland.
