As the sun rose today, with a mesmerizing view of Alcedo Volcano, some guests on National Geographic Islander received the first rays of light on the sky deck while stretching with Wellness Specialist Juliana. Alcedo is one of the five and a half volcanoes that form the seahorse-shaped Island of Isabela.
After stretching and breakfast, we disembarked at Urbina Bay. This was the beginning of a very exciting morning. While hiking at Urbina bay our guests had their very first encounter with giant tortoises; it was definitely a magical moment they will remember forever. The morning continued with Zodiac driving lessons for our young global explorers and a chance to jump off the ship for kids, and kids at heart! It was an exciting and adventurous morning.
In the afternoon, our Capitan repositioned the ship to Tagus Cove, which was commonly visited by sailors who were looking for shelter from rough seas and enemies. We continued our exciting and adventurous day with some snorkeling, Zodiac riding, kayaking and a vigorous walk up the top of Tagus Cove. Our day was filled with new adventures, new memories, and wonderful moments that remind us how beautiful our planet Earth is!
