We had a wonderful day in the western part of the Galapagos archipelago. The area is very rich in nutrients, and we saw a pod a bottlenose dolphins and common dolphins early in the morning. Later in the afternoon, we saw an adult humpback whale and its calf.
In the morning, we explored Punta Vicente Roca on Isabela Island. We crossed the equator and took Zodiac tours along the shoreline to see boobies, penguins, and cormorants. Snorkeling in the same area was spectacular. In the afternoon, we went for a walk on Punta Espinoza. It was a remarkable experience for our guests. We had time to sit on the sand and observe colonies of sea lions playing in the intertidal pools, tons of marine iguanas basking under the warm equatorial sun, and hawks flying through the sky. It was an astonishing journey in a great place.
