After a magnificent night watching the full moon eclipse from the top deck of the National Geographic Endeavour II, we sailed a few miles north, to the coast of Fernandina Island. Fernandina is the youngest island in the Galapagos archipelago, and it is one of the most beautiful and pristine islands in the planet. This morning we visited Punta Espinoza, a magical place full of life. Our guests had the opportunity to see marine Iguanas, Galapagos hawks, flightless cormorants and Galapagos sea lions.
Later in the day, we snorkeled and saw many sea turtles, penguins, flightless cormorants and marine iguanas feeding underwater. In the afternoon, we explored Punta Vicente Roca, a collapsed caldera of Ecuador Volcano. We spotted manta rays, blue-footed boobies, Pacific green sea turtles and fur seals. Once back aboard, we had wine tasting up on deck, and the ¨Ecuadorian Line Crossing Ceremony¨ with a spectacular sunset. This was another wonderful day on paradise aboard the National Geographic Endeavour II.
