We start our journey through the Highlands of Scotland today. In the morning, guests had the opportunity to visit two incredible sites: Culloden Battlefield and Clava Cairns. This battlefield was where the Jacobites fell to the government forces in 1746. The Clava Cairns took us even further back in time; a Bronze Age site of rocks set for burials and rituals.
We went back onboard Lord of the Glens to begin our journey south through Loch Ness. We happened to see Nessy the monster, yet no one managed to get a photograph. After passing through Loch Ness, we arrived in the town of Fort Augustus to enter the Caledonian Canal. Going through a series of locks, we managed to gather a crowd from the town as our guests watched Lord of the Glens barely fit into the chambers.
It was a fantastic day to start our trip here in the Highlands of Scotland.
