This morning, National Geographic Sea Bird docked in Haines, Alaska for a wonderful day of activities. Hikers enjoyed a walk through the Sitka spruce forest to Battery Point, overlooking the Chilkoot River. The signs of the season were on full display as summer progresses towards fall. Berries were abundant along the trail and showy, late-blooming fireweed towered above us as we traversed coastal meadows.
