We anchored this morning off the shore of Gozo with the islands of Comino and Malta close at hand. We disembarked by Zodiac to the port to explore the island’s remarkable history.
We began our visit at Ġgantija to see the megalithic fertility temples built by the Neolithic inhabitants a thousand years before the pyramids of Egypt. We strolled amidst the monumental stonework on elevated boardwalks to limit the modern impact on the ancient sacred space.
After exploring the 18th century Ta’ Kola Windmill in town, our Zodiacs adeptly plied the rising seas at the hands of our skilled crew to return us safely to the Sea Cloud. We spent the afternoon at sea, sorting images for the evening celebration and touring the ship with our captain.
The guest slideshow reminded us of all the adventures we have shared, and our farewell dinner showed the very best that Sea Cloud can offer.
