It is not every day when we have the opportunity to visit a truly wild place. In southeast Alaska, there are human settlements here and there. Small fishing communities, villages and even the occasional fishing lodge are scattered throughout the area. Not so in Glacier Bay National Park!
Today we immersed ourselves in a fascinating wilderness carved by glaciers, home to bears and wolves, and as far away from any roads as many of us had ever been. We also enjoyed excellent weather that offered us a great view of the magnificent Fairweather mountain range, making for a most memorable day.
