Today we visited Genovesa Island, and we started our morning walk exploration at El Barranco where we witnessed the most incredible shows of wildlife along with a unique geological landscape. At some point, we looked inside a crevice and suddenly a short-eared owl stuck its delicate head outside of the crack where it was patiently awaiting the arrival of a storm petrel.

Upon our arrival back on board National Geographic Gemini, juvenile red-footed boobies were perching on the bow of the ship where they spent time entertaining our guests before lunch. In the late afternoon, juvenile sea lions were swimming in the tidepools at Darwin Bay, allowing us to enjoy their presence while male great frigatebirds were engaging in their mating ritual to seduce female frigatebirds flying above them.

Before we returned to the ship, Nazca boobies were nesting on the ground, posing in front of our guests while the end of the day invited us to enjoy the sunset in the beautiful Galapagos Archipelago.
