The Sea Bird is 153 feet long and 33 feet wide. Her dimensions are dwarfed by the cavernous lock chamber at McNary Dam on the Columbia River, which measures 675 feet by 86 feet. The vertical lift is nearly one hundred feet and moves the Sea Bird upstream from Lake Umatilla to Lake Walulla.
