Fingers of clouds caressed the mountaintops and reached out into the valleys to calm the winds. The water was a steel grey mirror reflecting all including our colorful fleet of kayaks plying the shoreline. At the base of a waterfall we paused to reflect on the wildness surrounding us. Meanwhile on shore our comrades transected the intertidal zone and climbed a forest trail to a magic land where the vegetation was dwarfed by the soggy acidic enviroment it lived upon. Here in the bog, minute carnivorous plants fed upon insects and we fed upon the sweetest of blueberries on the tiniest of shrubs.
