The giants, the peaceful, the prehistoric. Through innocent eyes they see the world change without understanding how or why. We saw them grazing, and exchanged mutual stares. Do they carry memories over the centuries? Or do they live by the hour, focusing on the present as we no longer can, so involved are we in planning for the future. We have inherited a responsibility for the giant tortoises of Galapagos, to show future generations what a certain kind of life was like, when humankind was not yet born into the world.
