Early morning...out light and bright, pre-breakfast excursion... lots of participants today. Clearing skies, sun which allows great contrasts for colors. Brick red and black lava, turquoise waters with emerald green along the edges. The wave action had everyone on their toes for disembarking on the small Park jetty...and it was very, very worthwhile to visit this stark island with its volcanic cones and panoramas. A strong breeze which chilled at first turned into a freshing relief at the top of the island. Lost someone's hat in the wind, and it went tumbling down the slope, out of reach and sight...keep those hats tied on! Magnificent morning all around.
