Mr. Land Tortoise, when I look at you I think about all those experiences that you probably have accumulated in that life of centuries. Your look is deep ....... like trying to tell us something, something...secret, mysterious about your home islands. Pirates came first, then the whalers, they decimated your population, they introduced mammals that became competitors and predators. And then we came, settlers to look for a place to live and race our families. What is going to happen in the future? the Galapagos National Park and the Charles Darwin Research Station are working hard to preserve your kind, more than 1,500 little tortoises have been repatriated to their islands in the archipelago. We can be optimistic, and that is what I see in your eyes, hope for the future.
