Española Island

Our morning was dedicated to the search of sea birds such as boobies and incredible lizards such as iguanas. Two groups of daring photographers woke up at five to have breakfast and get out for the best light. During the entire walk we met blue footed booby babies, Nazca booby babies, and tropic birds as well. This was a success.

All this is happening on the western side of the island, Punta Suarez. We got the opportunity to meet baby sea lions as well, in all stages of life, from a helpless baby, to a little pup, along to the full developed juvenile… It was an amazing beginning for our trip. We also walked among colonies of marine iguanas and we had the photographic chance of meeting them building their nests along the way.

Then we had a very nice lunch and sailed to Gardner Bay, on the opposite side of the island, where we had a very refreshing snorkeling. Some of us saw the fish from our glass bottom boat, some others preferred get more personal. Then, some of us relaxed along the most beautiful beach of the Galápagos, in Gardner Bay, together with hundreds of resting sea lions. Some of our guests had the opportunity to kayak along the shores too. It was such a wonderful day…
