Española Island
Our first full day began with a visit to the western side of the island, Punta Suarez. Our hike was for the search of sea birds and iguanas. During the entire walk we met blue footed boobies, Nazca boobies, and tropic birds as well, all nesting at the same time. We got the opportunity to meet baby boobies in all stages of life, from an egg to a naked chick to the full fledged juvenile… It was an amazing beginning for our trip. We also walked along colonies of sea lions and we had the photographic chance of meeting the babies as well.
Then we had a very nice lunch and sailed to Gardner Bay, where we had a very interesting snorkeling. Some of us stayed “dry” looking from the glass bottom boat, some got very wet in deep waters. Still some of us snorkeled for the first time along the most beautiful beach of the Galapagos, together with hundreds of resting sea lions. Some of our guests also had the opportunity to kayak along the shores.
It was such a wonderful day…
