Today we visited the Island of Floreana. Our morning was spent at Punta Cormorant, where an early walk brought us to a brackish water lagoon where we saw greater flamingos. It was amazing to see so many flamingos gathered together. Afterwards we enjoyed snorkeling around Champion Islet. What a great opportunity to swim with playful Galapagos sea lions, while surrounded by colorful fish.

During lunch we encountered bottlenose dolphins—at least one hundred of them, all fishing together. Later in the afternoon, we visited the famous Post Office Bay, where we dropped off our postcards, to be picked up and hand-delivered by other travelers down the line. Then we enjoyed kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding in the calm waters of Baroness Bay.

It was a fantastic day, and just the start of our expedition…to be continued!
