We arrived at Floreana Island in the early hours of the day. We went ashore before breakfast for an exploration walk at Punta Cormorant. This morning along the trail, we found endemic species of plants, finches, and a small group of American flamingoes flying around the lagoon they inhabit.
After breakfast we went to Champion Islet and had a wonderful time exploring. We had Zodiac exploration of the coast, glass bottom boat cruising, and deep-water snorkeling. This place is famous for the large schools of fish found around the islet.
In the afternoon, National Geographic Endeavour II repositioned at Post Office Bay, also known as Hathaway Bay. There we kayaked with sea turtles and sea lions, sent mail through the wooden barrel of Post Office Bay, and enjoyed a refreshing swim from the coast.
