Today we entered another world, as the enchanted archipelago of the Galapagos revealed all its wonders to our guests. This morning at Gardner Bay, Española Island, we walked on a unique white sandy beach surrounded by turquoise waters. With our snorkel gear on we submerge ourselves into the underwater world, playing with sea lions while spotting sea turtles and many colorful tropical fishes. Exhausted after so much fun, we returned to National Geographic Endeavour II to recover our energy and get ready for the next adventure.
Later in the afternoon we went ashore. We were welcomed by many marine iguanas that look like dragons. We were able to learn a lot more about the Galapagos sea lions while we enjoyed the view. The path led us to the interior of the island where we spotted albatross, Nazca boobies, and blue-footed boobies. Enthusiastic land birds such as mockingbirds, finches, warblers, and Galapagos doves charmed us on the trail.
Today our guests enjoyed one of the most incredible islands on the planet. Espanola is a real paradise for sea birds, marine life, and everyone who enjoys nature. There is no better way to explore this remote archipelago than onboard National Geographic Endeavour II.
