After smooth gentle navigation, we arrived at Española Island, in the southeastern realm of the archipelago. This is one of the oldest islands and the home for many endemic species. Amongst the unique animals to Española Island, we have the Galapagos waved albatross, and we saw some this afternoon. The day was warm with a pleasant breeze; the water temperature was in the high seventies and crystal clear.
This morning, we snorkeled from Zodiacs and from the shore. Some of our guests went kayaking along the coast, while others went for a stroll along the shore and joined the sea lions on the beach.
During the afternoon, we hiked on Punta Suarez and had a fantastic time observing wildlife and impressive landscapes.
