After a windy night, we woke up to a beautiful morning at Ensenada Grande in the Epiritu Santo National Park. We had a lovely breakfast of eggs Benedict and headed for a hike on shore. We hiked to the top of a canyon while enjoying the plants and wildlife, including ladder-backed woodpeckers, endemic spiny lizards, and antelope ground squirrels. We observed many wondrous plants, including palo blanco, cardon cactus, and cholla cactus. The volcanic tuff that created walls around the arroyo was so beautiful. We all enjoyed the glorious beach and turquoise water. Afterwards, we pulled anchor and made our way south and around the peninsula for the Pacific side. It really was a day of exploration!
